running back

been 3 weeks now---am running again. i missed running so much. it was a good 30day rest since i got injured courtesy of 34th Milo. i tried running 2 weeks after that but my legs are really complaining. but hey, am back on the roads. it was nice to see bikers going up and down my training ground. they're all friendly. we'd wave at each other. will do MTB soon. meantime, will work on my time trials and some swimming. need to swim faster for next year's Ironman. need to run stronger for next year's Ultramarathon.

Runscapades 1/31/10

and so the training continues.... did 12K from Summit Ridge. I saw my High School friend, Jinggoy in the rest room. Nice to see you Senator! [He's not the real deal, he just looks exactly like Jinggoy] Then I saw this developing Track and Field Oval in Tagaytay and so why not give it a try. nice tracks but the sides are not yet fully develop. I'm actually expecting a snake to come out or some armed men in army suits spearheading a tiny war. good thing, there isn't any. just some 4 guys training, i think they're athletes. What a way to burn all the bulalo and platter sized fried bangus from LZM-Magallanes, Nice Place but Very Good Food! it seems like am cheating on my diet every sunday---my dietitian's gonna get crazy. will sleep now and will run again tom. c u on the road!

He told me that I Karl Malone uses it pala. He has asthma but it looks like he doesnt have one when he's inside the court. As for me, I now swear by this product, it works for me! I almost lost my fit&right. People in Summit Ridge are nice, beautiful place, beautiful people, great food. Ima see them next sunday.

I Got Afraid

The Problem
EXPLODE!!! That’s what my heart wanna do whenever I go up to Tagaytay to run. Meeeen the track is so steep. If it were in a tread mill, I think the gradient would be at 8%---that’s how serious it is. There were times that I’d walk my way up holding my rapid beating heart who wants to come out. People might be thinking, “hala inaatake na yata ‘to.”

The Solution
My friend recommended that I use stamina booster especially when doing extremely strenuous activities. I thought to myself I might not need it, I think I can manage naman, plus I don’t wanna inflict damage to my internal organs---I hear people say that some meds or supplements can actually damage internal organs. But not until I felt this super rapid beating going up---it only happens when the track is elevated---blame Newton. I remembered my cousin, who’s actually a surgeon, used to be a runner, competing in various races since able. Even went to HK for a marathon. In his free time, he’d run around St. Luke’s. Not until 4 years ago, he was walking from his clinic and he collapsed in ATC and....he’s in a coma until now in his house in AAV. His doctors said his heart must have gotten overworked. I know he will recover in God’s time.

Ok I got worried and I thought why not give it a try. So I tried using his stamina booster, Cordymax. He said it actually improves oxygen consumption and lung function. The more oxygen you consume, the more “not pagod” you become, thus, you can do more work out and exercises. Here are some of its benefits:

Primary Benefits
• Boosts vitality and stamina*
(perfect for runners and athletes)
* Improves Oxygen Consumption
* Supports greater natural resistance
• Reduces fatigue*
• Promotes healthy lung function*
* Prevents future Asthma Attacks
(Karl Malone has asthma but it looks like
he doesn't have it, when he plays. He loved
Cordymax so much, he endorsed it for Free)
* Improve kidney and liver function
(highly recommended for dialysis patients;
complements with whey protein users)*
* Enhances Sexual Performance

If you want big discounts, tell him you read about Cordymax from this blog.

It’s my 3rd day of using Cordymax and I thought why not test drive the new engine. Guess what? Meeeeenn, I felt like my lungs just got bigger! My inhale span got longer, it’s easier to breath, my rhythm [inhale, exhale per step] got stable and longer, Meeeen did I just got a lung transplant?!

Upon reaching my worked out pace [I’m not sure how you call it but I refer to it as ‘worked out pace’, the period from warmed up to getting so worked out and worn out---you feel so pagod na before the plateau---endurance point] I noticed am about to reach the 3rd kilometre post. I thought, meeeenn this is amazing, I usually feel the “worked out point” as I reach the first kilometre post, and then I’d jog slowly. With Cordymax, I reached the 3rd km post before feeling so worked out. This is really something. This can help me conquer my first 21K.

As for me, I fell in love with Cordymax. Now my heart isn’t my problem anymore...my knees and legs are! Thanks to my friend who told me to use Cordymax, Amazing! It helped me, am sure it’ll help you too.

I reached Summit Ridge

Did 11K going up to Tagaytay, meeeen I feel like my heart wants to explode. I got scared. I walked holding my left chest feeling its rapid beats. People’s reactions were funny. They were like they’ve seen something very new to them. Maybe they were thinking, “it’s just a matter of minutes before this guy would collapse and hit the road and be hit.” But it’s alright, I made it to Summit Ridge. You gotta love Summit Ridge. People are nice, people are beautiful, place is good. It’s around 6pm and I don’t have the strength to run going home so I hitched the first jeep I saw. Awesome experience \m/

Gun Start

I’ve always wanted to lose these extra baggages in my abdominal area. Always wanted to have that “flat stomach,” since I’ve been wearing these flabs for years already and I wanna lose them..Now! Tried jogging, a bit of running and fast-paced walking but never really got consistent with it, so no results. Tried eating less for two days but then eat like a construction worker the following days, thus, no results---until I can’t wear my sleeves and shirts anymore and had to buy a new set of clothes for my increased size. Finally decided to go to the gym and started doing cardio exercises [thanks to my personal trainer and dietician]. It was tough at first; everything’s tough when you’re starting. My max speed was at 8.5km/h. First time to endure 20 min at 8.5km/h, meeeeen it was great, was so proud. I thought that’s gonna be my max, then three months after, am running at 11.5km/h for 30min and I was then weighing 154lbs. from 184.4lbs [yes, I was big. Ok I was fat! pppffffftt....] .I thought am ready for some serious running.

One thing I learned, you have to really, really like something so much so you can work on it effectively and efficiently---it dictates your course. Without that cut-throat desire, you’re just gonna do it normally, just getting it over with---mediocre results. Here my goal was to lose weight, have a flat stomach, maybe grow some abdominal muscles and look better and I liked it so much, I know it would change my life. It’s a matter of change in focus.

“What you focus on, Expands!” ~ Jerry Clark

I believe in stewardship---if someone can’t be trusted with very little, he can’t be trusted with much. Everyone wants to have a long life for their own reasons. I want to live a long life with a gorgeous wife, yeah it rhymes! And if I can’t be trusted with what I put in my mouth every meal time, I may not be serious in asking God for a long life. Moreover, if I can’t be trusted with what I eat, I’d grow bigger and bigger [big isn’t healthy, big isn’t cute, big is disgusting] and I might be causing disorder in my internal systems, thus, no long life, no gorgeous wife.

Now, my daily runs are at 3K to 5K [treadmill or road running] and 11K to Tagaytay on weekends, with 1000 ropes for warm up and 2000 ropes post exercise and abs exercises. I enjoy breaking a sweat every time I run. Feels good, I can feel my spirit rising.

More Miles, More Days! Finish the Race! Keep the Faith!
